Olivier Award 2022 Winner for Best Costume Design!

Spectacular, specular! The Broadway and West End smash hit Moulin Rouge! The Musical is now setting out on a UK Tour, starting the party in Edinburgh with an extended run from April 2025!

A thrilling experience for audiences, this marvellous production is based on the iconic Baz Lurhmann film of the same name (in turn based on Puccini's La Boheme) and is directed by Alex Timbers, with gorgeous set design by Derek McLane and Olivier winning costume design from Catherine Zuber. Evoking the film's Demi-Monde flavour, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a sumptuous experience, from the moment you take your seat.

Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge! is cemented into the worldwide canon of iconic movies. With a glittering cast featuring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor, and a set that would astound the most cynical viewer it's no wonder that Moulin Rouge! went on to be one of the most award-nominated movies of all time. When released in the early 2000s it was nominated for an outstanding 129 awards, winning two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, and one BAFTA. A feat the musical adaptation has already began to match - in 2020, it won an eye-watering 10 Tony Awards!

Fabulous Production!

This show was fabulous. Some of the best staging, production, lighting and effects I've seen at the theatre. First half was good but found myself comparing to the film. The second half however was another level. Spectacular spectacular! Such a pity that members of the audience were in and out of seats and talking during big numbers. Also a phone ringing for about a minute. Extremely rude and thoughtless behaviour that doesn't belong at the theatre! I think theatres should encourage better theatre etiquette by stopping people returning from toilet trips until a suitable applause break. Im sure everyone would enjoy the experience far more if less alcohol was consumed by some! ... Read more

Phenomenal

We went to see this show tonight. It was absolutely phenomenal! A mix of classics and new music that had us experiencing a roller coaster of emotions and absolutely gripping. The costumes were fantastic. We laugh, cried, and danced to the script and story. Highly recommend. I want to see it again! Come back to Liverpool, please! ... Read more
