Just seen the show tonight in Liverpool and, whilst I enjoyed all the performances by musicians and singers, I do wish that the conductor/leader would provide a bit more information about each of the pieces. I think it’s wrong to assume that everyone will recognise everything, maybe some of us want to expand our knowledge of film music. The well known pieces got a great reception but other pieces were not instantly recognised so didn’t produce the same reaction. A lovely way to spend an evening but there’s still room for improvement in communication.
